Residents in our Memory Care community are given the freedom to live fully and comfortably with licensed skilled nurses on site 24/7, private residences, programming to keep them engaged, and every feature to help them feel safe and secure.

VANESSA RIDGEWAY, LPN – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Vanessa Ridgeway, a seasoned professional in healthcare administration, serves as the Executive Director of Charter Senior Living of Oak Openings Assisted Living. With a background in nursing, she brings over 20 years of experience to the role. Vanessa’s experience in Assisted Living ranges from Executive Director, Regional Director of Operations and Divisional Vice President of Operations. Vanessa’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors is reflected in her strategic leadership, implementing innovative programs, and ensuring personalized care. Her compassionate approach and focus on creating a vibrant, supportive community are a major focus. She enjoys spending time with her family and reading when not working.
SHONDA LAFFERTY, LPN – HEALTH & WELLNESS DIRECTOR
Shonda graduated from Ehove School of Nursing in 2004. During her nursing career she has experienced skilled nursing care, memory care, and assisted living. She started as a Director in Tiffin which led her to an ADON position until now heading up the care team here at Charter. She is originally from Kentucky and moved to Ohio in 1997. She is currently single and has a twenty-five-year-old daughter. She enjoys traveling, exercising, reading, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family.
SHANNON BENGE – DIRECT OF SALES & MARKETING
Shannon Benge has been the Director of Sales and Marketing at Charter Senior Living of Oak Openings for over 3 years. She has been in marketing and sales for over 30 years and is proud of the rewarding relationships she has built throughout with her peers, customers, and community. She loves that she gets to use her ability and skill set to provide creative, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking solutions for residents, families, and team members.
Shannon is a proud wife, mother of three, who enjoys watching her children playing sports, golf, skiing and trips to the beach. She is a graduate of The University of Toledo for her bachelor’s and Heidelberg College for her master’s. Shannon is always thrilled to enhance the lives of seniors and their families every day!
DAWN IRVINE – MEMORY CARE DIRECTOR
Dawn Irvine, Memory Care Director at Charter Oak Openings since November 2021, boasts 17 years of dedicated experience in dementia care. As a Certified Dementia Practitioner, she fosters a nurturing environment for residents, drawing from her deep understanding and expertise in the field. Dawn’s commitment to safety extends to her role as a licensed Emergency Medical Technician with the Bedford Fire Department. Beyond work, she finds joy as a devoted pet parent to Olive and Kennedy, reflecting her compassionate nature. Dawn’s unwavering dedication and compassionate approach exemplify her commitment to excellence in dementia care.
