At Charter Senior Living of Oak Openings, we also specialize in providing Memory Care through our new, research-based Flourish℠ programming. This personalized approach meets individual tastes and preferences while helping your loved one navigate the physical and cognitive challenges of memory loss. Residents in our Memory Care community are given the freedom to live fully and comfortably with licensed skilled nurses on site 24/7, private residences, programming to keep them engaged, and every feature to help them feel safe and secure.

Kylie Prather– Sales & Marketing Director
With over a decade of experience in sales, customer service, and event planning, Kylie is passionate about creating meaningful connections as the Sales & Marketing Director of Charter Senior Living of Oak Openings. Kylie supports seniors and their families in navigating the transition to assisted living and memory care with compassion and expertise. Her background in managing thriving communities and hosting impactful events reflects her dedication to fostering trust and enriching the lives of residents and their families.
Kylie is married to her husband, Kevin, and they’re about to celebrate 13 years together! They live with their two playful cats, Newt and Rey, who never fail to bring a smile to her day. She loves studying Japanese culture, visiting local cafés, and staying active through yoga and beach volleyball.
Meg Senecal, MPH, PhD
Memory Care Director
As Memory Care Director, Meg is passionate about creating an engaging, supportive environment for individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other memory impairments. She truly enjoys building meaningful connections with residents, their families, and senior service professionals in the greater community.
Meg brings a strong background in dementia care, regulatory compliance, and public health advocacy. She began her career in 2017 with the Long-Term Care Ombudsman’s Office, championing the rights of long-term care residents. Most recently, Meg served as Associate Director at MemoryLane Care Services, where she was known for fostering collaboration, developing innovative care solutions, and supporting underserved populations. Meg holds both an MPH and a PhD from the University of Toledo.
Heather Barnhiser
Executive Director
Heather Barnhiser joins Charter Senior Living of Oak Openings as our Executive Director, bringing more than nine years of experience in the senior living industry. She began her career in senior living sales within skilled nursing communities before moving into a Sales Director role for an Assisted and Independent Living community. It was there that Heather discovered her true passion—improving operations and enhancing resident and family experiences, which ultimately led to her promotion to Executive Director.
Most recently, Heather served with Distinctive Living as the Senior Executive Director, where she successfully opened a new community in May 2022 and provided support to another community in Cleveland. Known for her strong sales acumen and operational leadership, Heather believes that people are the foundation of success. She is dedicated to cultivating a positive culture where accountability, teamwork, and compassion thrive—resulting in reduced staff turnover and exceptional care for residents.
A proud Northwest Ohio native, Heather resides in Perrysburg, OH with her husband of six years and their two children, Rhett (5) and Remmi (18 months), along with their energetic 6-month-old Lab/German Shepherd mix, Charlie—the kids’ constant companion. Heather earned her degree in Communication Disorders from Bowling Green State University. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time by the pool with family and friends, attending Rhett’s T-ball (and soon basketball) games, exploring local MetroParks, reading, attending country music concerts and rooting for her Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns.
Heather is thrilled to join the Charter Senior Living of Oak Openings team and looks forward to building a successful, people-centered community—focusing on strengthening team culture, driving occupancy, and ensuring the highest standards of care and service.
